Frère Jaques Cheese
Milk Pasteurized cow
Age: 3-6 Months
Made by the only cheese dairy in North America run by Benedictine Monks, at the Abbaye De St-Benoît-Du-Lac, Frère Jaques Cheese, from Quebec, is a delicate variety, steeped in history.
This firm cheese, made from pasteurized milk, is a delicious Swiss-style cheese, with a delightful texture and an interior scattered with holes (or eyes) throughout.
The texture is smooth and soft, yet slightly elastic. And its washed rind is a lovely warm orange-yellow colour, which looks so nice on a cheese board!
Its aroma is sweet, but slightly acidic, with a delicate walnut flavour. It's a nice mild cheese, that will appeal to a wide audience. Also great for melting. Grilled cheese anyone?
Pair with Valpolicella, Pinot Grigio.

If you order several cheeses, we will usually make up for shortcomings on weight, if any, on the other cheeses ordered.
All cheeses are wrapped in special cheese paper and sealed to preserve freshness during transit.
