Nice texture, almost nutty flavor

Slightly creamy, slightly tangy, good texture, with a non pungent "goat cheese" flavor that isn't as intense, so good for everyone who wants to try goat cheeses. Great for crackers and a light sauvignon blanc (though I had a rosé.).

Really nice goat cheese

Depending on the age of the cheese, it will be a bit firmer, or actually quite gooey near the edges. Either way, it is super nice, and I include either this one or one of its cousins on almost all my cheese boards.

La Bonde d'Antan

The Facts

Country: France
Milk Type: Pasteurized
Age: 2-6 weeks

Tasting Notes:

La Bonde d'Antan is made by the same family that produces the famous Chabichou du Poitou and the Mothais sur Feuille in Poitou region France.

It has a slightly chalky center, with a creaminess as it softens towards the wrinkly, naturally formed rind.

Sweet, tangy, fruity with a lemony finish.

We love to cut wedges of this into baby green salads with pears, walnuts or pecans, a drizzle of truffle honey and a splash of olives oil.

Amazing with Sancerre wine from the region.

***All handmade goat cheeses may arrive with little spores of mold, this is completely edible and normal for artisan goat cheeses.

Pair with a Chardonnay.
