An ancient cheese, the Pecorino (which simply means sheep's milk cheese) is one of the most widely used alternatives to Parmesan. However, this hard cheese is quite salty and boasts a sharper flavour. You will also notice spicy, nutty flavour notes.
Its flavour and texture make it an ideal cheese to grate over pasta or to use in other dishes that call for Parmesan.
This cheese is also great on its own, for snacking, or as part of a cheese platter.
