Bit disappointing

I was looking forward to the Mont D’or again this year but it was not available for some reason. I have tried the Nuiton d’Or, which is similar but not as tasty as the Mont D’or.

Hopefully Canada lifts the ban on raw milk and we can get this back next holiday season. Thanks for trying the nuiton, we have had good feedback on it, although not as strong, many found it very pleasant and crowdpleasing. All the best!

Nuiton d'Or 450g

Origin: Burgundy, France
Milk Type: Cow’s milk
Producer: Fromagerie Delin
Texture: Soft, rich, and spoonable when warm
Rind: Washed, orange-golden rind
Flavour: Creamy, savoury, with gentle earthy and nutty tones

Description:
Crafted by Fromagerie Delin in Burgundy, Nuiton d’Or was created as a French alternative to Vacherin Mont d’Or, designed specifically for baking. This decadent cheese features a thin, washed orange rind and a luscious, creamy paste that becomes beautifully molten when heated.

When served warm from the oven, it transforms into a bubbling, rich fondue-like delight — perfect for dipping crusty bread, roasted potatoes, or cured meats. Even when served at room temperature, its smooth, buttery texture and subtle nutty flavour make it irresistible.

Pairing Suggestions:

  • Wine: A crisp Chardonnay or light Pinot Noir

  • Food: Ideal for baking in its wooden box; serve with baguette, cornichons, or charcuterie

  • Serving Tip: Score the top, add a splash of white wine and garlic, then bake until golden and bubbling
