Love this cheese!

I can't go by the fridge without cutting off a chunk! I hope you restock it soon. I started ordering from you because you stock this one and some of the other English cheeses that I love but can't easily find anymore.

Underwhelming.

Dry, chalky, slightly salty, very little flavour.

Finally! My favourite cheese!

I love Cheshire (or 'crumbly cheese' as we used to call it in England as kids). Fabulous to find it available here. Great sharp flavour and that crumbly texture....just delicious.

Cheshire Cheese

The Facts

Country: England
Milk: Pasteurized cow
Age: 3 months+

Tasting Notes:

As the oldest English cheese, Cheshire cheese is a hard, dense, semi-firm to firm cheese with a crumbly texture and a salty, sharp aftertaste. Almost cheddar-like but denser a bit more moist.

It is said that the Romans built a wall around the production area of the cheese, which became the town of Chester, in order to protect it.

Pair with a Riesling.
