Galet de la Loire is a soft-ripened cheese crafted by Fromagerie Louis Tessier in the Loire Valley. Named for the smooth pebbles (“galets”) found along the Loire River, it features a delicate bloomy rind and a creamy, supple paste. The flavour is rich and earthy, with subtle notes of mushroom, cellar, and a gentle lactic tang. As it matures, the paste softens further and the aromas deepen, offering a characterful bite without being overpowering.

Pairing Notes:
Serve at room temperature on crusty bread or with cherry chutney. Pair with a crisp Loire Sauvignon Blanc, a dry Chenin Blanc, or a sweet Banyuls for contrast.
