Baluchon Organic Cheese
The Facts
Country: Canada
Milk Type: Unpasteurized Cow
Age: 2-4 Months
Tasting Notes:
Baluchon Organic Cheese is a wonderful semi-hard, organic cheese is a warm golden colour, covered in darker golden brown, slightly sticky, washed, edible rind.
Creamy, sweet, slightly “barny” aromas are characteristic of the Baluchon, along with its smooth, even texture.
Ripened for 2 months, this Canadian award-winner features a pleasant mix of flavours, including hazelnut, butter, cream, and herbs—with a slight acidity and subtle, sweet clover aftertaste. These flavours are complemented nicely with the earthy, slightly bitter and pungent taste of the rind—typical of washed rind cheeses.
The subtle texture of the rind provides a nice complement to the creaminess of the cheese.
This popular Canadian selection has won several Canadian Cheese Awards, including “Cheese of the Year” in 2014
